- A Memorial Day Veterans Service is held every year on the Monday of Memorial Day
weekend in the American Legion Circle. This event is sponsored by The Greater Salem Area Veterans Organization and includes speakers, a wreath presentation, special music, bagpipes and an echo 21-gun salute.
- Avenue of Flags – Four times each year, the cemetery roads are lined with the flags of deceased veterans that their families have donated. The Avenue of Flags is displayed during the three days of Memorial Day weekend, Flag Day, Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
- Memorial Christmas Tree – a commemorative Memorial Christmas Tree is placed each year at Christmas time in Mt. Crest Abbey Mausoleum. The tree usually goes up the first week of December and comes down after New Year’s Day. The tree is filled with ornaments that families have brought and placed in memory of their loved ones. A small brass tag is placed on every ornament. There are over 4000 ornaments on the tree.
